Deal: August revenue numbers up 9.1 percent

The state of Georgia’s net tax collections for the month of August totaled $1.3 billion, an increase of $108 million or 9.1 percent compared to August 2010, Gov. Nathan Deal reported today.

Deal signs congressional map

Gov. Nathan Deal today signed into law Georgia’s new congressional map passed by the General Assembly. Act 3X, known as the Georgia Congressional Reapportionment Act of 2011, adds a 14th district, which Georgia gained after the 2010 Census.

Deal announces Immigration Enforcement Review Board

Today, Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Speaker David Ralston announced their appointees to the Immigration Enforcement Review Board. The board consists of three appointees by Deal, two appointees by Cagle and two by Ralston.
