Deal: September revenues up 3.9 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that Georgia’s net tax collections for the month of September totaled $1.59 billion for an increase of $59.5 million, or 3.9 percent, compared to September 2011.

Carter's, Inc. plans to consolidate global headquarters operations in Georgia

Gov. Nathan Deal and Michael D. Casey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carter’s, Inc. announced today that Carter’s plans to consolidate its retail store and financial operations, currently managed in its Shelton, Conn., facility, with the company’s Atlanta-based headquarters operations, bringing approximately 200 jobs to Georgia.

Deal appoints Coomer as House floor leader

Gov. Nathan Deal today named Rep. Christian A. Coomer (R-Cartersville) as the new state House floor leader. Coomer will join Rep. Amy Carter (R-Valdosta) and Rep. Matt Hatchett (R-Dublin) as the third administrative floor leader for Deal.
