Deal announces judicial appointment for Douglas County State Court

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of the Honorable Brian K. Fortner as State Court Judge of Douglas County. Fortner will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable W. O’Neal Dettmering Jr. The appointment will take effect upon swearing in.

Brian K. Fortner
Fortner currently serves as the district attorney of the Douglas Judicial Circuit. He earned a bachelor’s degree from North Georgia College and State University and a law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. Fortner and his wife, Bobbi, have two children and reside in Winston.
