Deal appoints four to boards
A.G. “Spud” Woodward, Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission
Woodward retired from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) after 34 years, including time as director of the Coastal Resources Division. During his tenure with DNR, he served as a member of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council. Woodward also led numerous legislative initiatives related to natural resource management and conservation. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Augusta University and a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. Woodward and his wife, Chris, have one child and one grandchild. They live in Brunswick.
Becky Langston, Board of the Georgia County Leadership Academy
Langston currently serves as a Harris County Commissioner. She retired from Synovus Financial Corporation and previously served as the Chief of Protocol at Fort Benning. Langston sits on the board of directors for the Valley Rescue Mission and previously sat on the board for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. She is a member of the Relay for Life Committee and the American Business Women's Association. Langston is a former member of the Harris County Leadership Council. She and her husband, Dwight, have two daughters and four grandchildren. They reside in Fortson.
Laurie McRae, Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers
McRae is an interior designer with certifications from the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She previously sat on the CIDQ board for six years. McRae earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Georgia. She and her husband, David, live in Harlem.
Lauren Armour Pugh, Lake Lanier Islands Development Authority
Pugh, vice president for institutional advancement at Lanier Technical College, serves as the executive director of the Lanier Technical College Foundation and as the college’s chief fundraiser. Before joining Lanier Tech, she was the executive director for stewardship and development for the Technical College System of Georgia. Pugh sits on governing board of the Georgia Education Advancement Council. She earned bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from Piedmont College. Pugh and her husband, Matt, reside in Lula.
