Deal appoints Department of Administrative Services Commissioner
Gov. Nathan Deal today appointed Christopher Nunn as Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) following the announcement of current DOAS Commissioner Sid Johnson’s departure. Johnson departs to take on a position with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia. The appointment will take effect on April 1.
Christopher Nunn
Nunn has served as Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs since September 2015. His leadership has been instrumental in a variety of initiatives, specifically focused on team development and program sustainability. Prior to joining state government, Nunn ran a mid-sized, Atlanta-based professional services firm and spent 13 years as a management consultant focused on strategic planning, leadership development and process improvement. A native of Perry, Nunn earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s degree from the University of St. Andrews. He and his wife, Nancy, have two children and live in Atlanta.
