SOUTH GEORGIA ADVISORY: Deal, elected officials to tour areas impacted by storms

January 24, 2017

Gov. Nathan Deal, joined by legislators and other elected officials, tomorrow, January 25, will visit parts of South Georgia impacted by recent severe weather. Deal will view storm damage, meet with local leaders and emergency responders for updates and brief media following both an aerial survey* and a driving tour.**

Schedule of events:

ALBANY AERIAL TOUR

  • 1 p.m.               Briefing with GEMA/HS and local officials in Albany
  • 1:10-1:40          Aerial surveillance by helicopter
  • 1:40-2 p.m.       Media availability
                            Southwest Georgia Regional Airport
                            Eagles of America FBO

  • 2 p.m.               Depart Albany for Cook County Airport

* MEDIA NOTE: While we are unable to accommodate media for the aerial tour, the governor will be available for questions immediately following. Please note these times are tentative and plan accordingly, allowing plenty of time for set-up prior to arrival.
