Deal appoints five to boards

Tim Donovan, Department of Community Supervision Advisory Board
Donovan is the co-owner of Judicial Alternatives of Georgia and has more than 30 years of experience in the criminal justice field. He is a former probation and parole officer, probation supervisor, district manager, field operations manager and director of operations for the state of Florida. Donovan is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an intelligence operations specialist. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Tampa. Donovan and his wife, Carole, reside in Thomasville. 

Shonda Gilkey, Department of Community Supervision Advisory Board
Gilkey is the director of probation services for the Clayton Judicial Circuit and has more than 14 years of experience in misdemeanor probation. She is a member of the 2017 Leadership Clayton class. Gilkey earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Morris Brown College. She has three children and resides in Hampton. 

Christopher Davidson, Governor’s Commission on Unmanned Aircraft Technology
Davidson is the state archivist and an assistant vice chancellor for the University System of Georgia. He was previously a records management office supervisor for the Alabama Department of Transportation and worked with the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Davidson earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery, and a law degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. He and his wife, LeAnn, have one child and reside in Fayetteville.

David Vigilante, Governor’s Commission on Unmanned Aircraft Technology
Vigilante is the legal senior vice president for CNN, and senior vice president and associate general counsel for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. He sits on the boards of the Comunity School of Decatur, Journey Men's Shelter on Ponce and Kenny Leon's True Colors Theater. Vigilante earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a law degree from Emory University. He and his wife, Katherine, have two children and reside in Atlanta. 

Anne Thompson, State Board of Physical Therapy
Thompson is the department head for Rehabilitation Services and director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Armstrong State University. She sits on the Georgia Foundation for Physical Therapy board and is a past president of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary, a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University and a doctoral degree in Educational Administration from Georgia Southern University. She and her husband, Tom, have one child and reside in Savannah.
