Deal appoints 18 to boards
Norm Boyd, Board of Community Health (reappointment)
Boyd was previously a corporate officer of the AGCO Corporation. He has a background in sales, marketing, corporate development, strategy planning, international business unit management and human resources. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and completed the Executive Management program at Dartmouth College. He and his wife, Colleen, reside in Johns Creek.
Allana Cummings, Board of Community Health (reappointment)
Cummings is chief information officer of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She was previously the CIO of the Northeast Georgia Health System. Cummings earned a bachelor’s degree in Organization Leadership from Mercer University and an executive MBA from the Ken Blanchard College of Business at Grand Canyon University. She lives in Gainesville.
Roger Folsom, Board of Community Health (reappointment)
Folsom is the president and owner of Med1st, a home health services and equipment company. He is the chairman of the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority and the board of trustees for Fairview Park Hospital. Folsom sits on the board of governors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors for Farmers State Bank. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Valdosta State University. Folsom resides in Dublin.
Melissa Boekhaus, M.D., Board of Early Care and Learning
Boekhaus is a general pediatrician with the Wellstar Pediatric and Adolescent Center. She is a member of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Boekhaus serves on the Wellstar Pediatric Quality Committee. Boekhaus earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Mercer University and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She and her husband, Corbin, have three children and live in Mableton.
Kay Ford, Board of Early Care and Learning (reappointment)
Ford is the chair of the BankSouth Savannah advisory board and has more than 43 years of experience in the banking industry. She is the campaign chair of the United Way of the Coastal Empire and serves on the finance committee for the Catholic Diocese of Savannah. Ford sits on the board of directors of BankSouth. She is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia. Ford and her husband, Bob, have three children and six grandchildren. They reside in Savannah.
Janice Gallimore, Board of Early Care and Learning (reappointment)
Gallimore retired as director of operations from the PruCare Division of Prudential Financial Inc. She is a past chair of the Greene County Board of Education and previously sat on the board of directors for St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital. Gallimore is a scholar for the Coverdell Leadership Institute and earned bachelor’s degrees French and Secondary Education from Clark College. She has one child and one grandchild. Gallimore lives in Greensboro.
Susan Harper, Board of Early Care and Learning (reappointment)
Harper is a retired library media specialist from the Dougherty County Public Schools. She is a past president of the Thronateeska Heritage Foundation, the Suburban Woman’s Club and the Palmyra Heights Garden Club. Harper earned a bachelor’s degree and a specialist degree from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree from Georgia State University and a certificate in instructional technology from Darton College. She and her husband, Carroll, have two children and three grandchildren. They reside in Albany.
Stephen Burton, Georgia Auctioneers Commission (reappointment)
Burton has more than 30 years of experience as a licensed real estate broker and an auctioneer. He is a member of the Georgia Auctioneers Association. Burton previously sat on the Brooks County Board of Commissioners and the board of trustees for Westbrook School. He and his wife, Marjorie, have three children and nine grandchildren. They live in Quitman.
Kim Hagen, Georgia Auctioneers Commission
Hagen is the chief executive officer of the Hagen Realty Group. He has experience in residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and resort property auctions. Hagen is a past president of the Auction Marketing Institute, a past ex-officio member of the National Auctioneers Association, and a member of the Georgia Auctioneers Association. He and his wife, Kelly, have five children and three grandchildren. They reside in Carrollton.
Steven Gautney, Georgia Board for Physician Workforce
Gautney is the president and CEO of Crisp Regional Hospital and Health Services. He sits on the board of directors for the Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center, the Georgia Hospital Association, Crisp Regional Hospital, the Georgia Healthcare Association Workers’ Compensation Trust Fund and Secure Health Plan of Georgia. Gautney is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Gautney and his wife, Laurie, have three children and one grandchild. They live in Vienna.
Anthony “Tony” Biello, Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies (reappointment)
Biello is the safety and security director for The Lovett School. He is also a security consultant, private investigator and classroom firearm instructor. Biello retired from the Atlanta Police Department after 35 years of service. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Brenau University and holds a Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training certification. He has one child and resides in Acworth.
Wesley Langdale, Georgia Forestry Commission (reappointment)
Langdale is the president of The Langdale Company. He is a member of the Georgia Agribusiness Council and sits on the boards of the Georgia Forestry Association and the ABAC Foundation. Langdale earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Kimberly, have two children and live in Valdosta.
Jake Evans, Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission
Evans is an attorney at Thompson Hine and practices as a business litigator and advisor. He is a member of the Georgia Civil Indigent Services Task Force, the Georgia Bar Journal Editorial Board and the Professionalism Committee of the Georgia State Bar. Evans is also a member of the 2016-2017 Leadership Buckhead Class, a graduate of the 2014 Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy. He sits on the Young Leaders Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers. Evans was inducted into the Lumpkin Inn of Court and the Lamar Inn of Court. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from University of Georgia. Evans resides in Smyrna.
Rhonda Barnes, Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council (reappointment)
Barnes is the executive legal assistant in the Office of the Governor and was recognized in 2010 by the Georgia State Senate with Senate Resolution 1582 for her experience in state government. She sits on the board of directors of the Peachtree Tri Club. Barnes studied office administration and paralegal studies at Clayton State University. She has three children and two grandchildren. Barnes lives in Griffin.
Ben Copeland Jr., Georgia Seed Development Commission (reappointment)
Copeland is chief operating officer of Patten Seed Company/Super-Sod. He is a member of the Georgia Sod Producers Association and the Georgia Crop Improvement Association. Copeland is an elder of the Perry Presbyterian Church. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. Copeland and his wife, Kelly, have five children and reside in Marshallville.
Kent Fountain, Georgia Seed Development Commission (reappointment)
Fountain is the president and chief executive officer of Southeastern Gin & Peanut, Inc. and chairman of Premium Peanut, LLC. He serves as president of the Southeastern Ginners’ Association and is a vice president of the National Cotton Council. Fountain is a past chairman of the Wayne County Board of Education and the National Cotton Ginners’ Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. Fountain and his wife, Missi, have two children and live in Screven.
Carole Pacheco, Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers (reappointment)
Pacheco is a professor of Architecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the board of directors for the Architectural Foundation of Georgia. Pacheco earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and a master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado. She has one child and resides in Savannah.
Janice Wittschiebe, Georgia State Board of Architects and Interior Designers (reappointment)
Wittschiebe serves on the Emory University board of visitors and on the board of trustees for the Georgia Tech Foundation. She was previously the board chair of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. Wittschiebe also served as an advisory board member to the Board of Regents and worked with the Georgia State Investment Commission on the State Construction Manual. She is a member of Rotary Atlanta and the American Institute of Architects. Wittschiebe earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Georgia Tech. She lives in Atlanta.
