Deal supports interim University System head
The University System of Georgia (USG) today announced that Hank Huckaby, chancellor of USG, will retire from his role effective Dec. 31. Steve Wrigley, executive vice chancellor for administration for USG, will assume the position of interim chancellor effective Jan. 1.
“I am confident this will be a seamless transition, and I know Steve will continue to bring great strengths to USG in his new role,” said Gov. Nathan Deal. “Hank has been a friend and true public servant to the state for many years. He has dutifully served the University System, the Board of Regents and the state as chancellor since 2011. I cannot think of a stronger candidate than Steve to replace Hank and lead our University System.”
