Deal appoints nine to boards
Maureen Kelly, Council on Aging
Kelly recently retired as the business and community liaison for the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging. She is the president of the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund, an organization that supports programs and services for older adults. Kelly is a former president of the Georgia Gerontology Society and the Georgia Older Worker Network. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. Kelly and her husband, Mike, have four children and eight grandchildren. They reside in Lawrenceville.
Perry Kemp, Pharm.D, Council on Aging
Kemp is a practice manager and physician services liaison for Community Primary Care of Georgia. He is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the Georgia Pharmacy Association, the Georgia Medical Directors Association, the American Medical Directors Association and the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association. Kemp earned a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a doctoral degree in Pharmacy from Mercer University. He and his wife, Victoria, have two children and live in Acworth.
Tony Marshall, Council on Aging
Marshall is the president and CEO of the Georgia Health Care Association. He was previously the senior director of reimbursement with the Florida Health Care Association. Marshall has more than 25 years of experience in the health care profession, including 16 years in association management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech. Marshall and his wife, Janet, reside in McDonough.
Ashton Windham, Council on Aging
Windham is the chief financial officer of WindCorp Management Services and operates a private home care service. He is licensed as a nursing home administrator and as an insurance agent. Windham previously sat on the board of the Georgia Health Care Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. Windham and his wife, Laurie, have one child and live in Macon.
Chuck Efstration, Criminal Justice Reform Council
Efstration represents the 104th District in the Georgia House of Representatives. He serves on the Appropriations, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Insurance, Juvenile Justice and Reapportionment committees. Efstration is the chairman of a subcommittee of the Juvenile Justice Committee and a vice chairman of an Appropriations subcommittee. He is an attorney at The Efstration Law Firm, PC. Efstration is the president of the Gwinnett Bar Association, a member of the Gwinnett Rotary Club, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Greek Orthodox Christian Church in Watkinsville. Efstration earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Mercer University. He and his wife, Ashley, reside in Dacula.
David Wren, D.C., Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners (reappointment)
Wren is the president of the Chiropractic and Sports Injury Center. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a past president of the Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Wren sits on the board of directors for the Albany Advocacy Resource Center and the Chiropractic Political Action Committee. He is also a member of the Georgia Chiropractic Association and the Dougherty County Rotary Club. Wren earned a doctoral degree in Chiropractic from Life University. He and his wife, Vicki, have three children and one grandchild. They live in Leesburg.
Semba Brittian, Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism (reappointment)
Brittian is the CEO of the Generating Resources, Aid and Scholarship Program. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army with more than 27 years of service. Brittian volunteers with Northside Hospital Network of Hope, the Greater Atlanta chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army, the American Cancer Society and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Howard University and a master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Maryland. Brittian has two children and resides in Fairburn.
Cayanna Good, Ph.D., Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism (reappointment)
Good is the deputy director of Innovations and Academic Strategy for the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. Previously, she served as the state director of School Improvement for the Georgia Department of Education. Good earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Fisk University, a master’s degree in Education from Georgia State University and a doctoral degree in Philosophy from Mercer University. She and her husband, Antoine, have two children and live in Lithonia.
Jay Markwalter, Georgia Tourism Foundation
Markwalter is the director of sales for the Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau. He was previously the tourism director for the Dahlonega and Lawrenceville Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Markwalter is the president of the Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau. He previously sat on the boards of the Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association, the Georgia 400 Hospitality Highway Partnership and the Georgia Downtown Association. Markwalter is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and Leadership Lumpkin County and a current member of Leadership Augusta. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia and a Tourism Professional Certification from the Southeast Tourism Society. Markwalter and his wife, Summer, have two children and reside in Augusta.
