Deal appoints six to boards
Wilson Gosier, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Authority
Gosier is a retired educator and university administrator. He also worked for the Georgia Department of Education and the Professional Practices Commission. Gosier officiated basketball and football games for high school, the NCAA, the NBA and the NFL. He earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Fort Valley State University. Gosier and his wife, Celeste, have three children and four grandchildren. They reside in Decatur.
Roger Branch, Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority
Branch is the vice president of Southeastern Gin. He was previously the president of the National Peanut Buying Points Association, the Baxley-Appling County Chamber of Commerce and the Appling County Young Farmers. Branch is an alumnus of the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum. He earned an associate’s degree from Reinhardt College and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Dawn, reside in Baxley.
John Callaway, Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority (reappointment)
Callaway is the owner and operator of Callaway Cattle Company. He is retired from the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension Service. Callaway served as president of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association, chairman of the Georgia Farm Bureau Beef Cattle Committee and sits on the board of the Troup County Farm Bureau. He is the chairman of the Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Beef. Callaway earned a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a master’s degree in Business from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Marcia, have one son and live in Hogansville.
Johnny Webb, Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority (reappointment)
Webb retired as master chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy after more than 30 years of service. He was also the deputy director of the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. Webb became a certified fair executive in 1995 and was a member of the Speakers Bureau for the International Association of Fairs and Expositions for several years. He is a former president of the Georgia Association of Agricultural Fairs (GAAF) and currently serves as the association’s secretary and treasurer. He was named “Fairman of the Year” by GAAF in 2006. Webb and his wife, Clara, have two children and two grandchildren. They reside in Rabun Gap.
Garrison Baker, Board of Commissioners of the Judges of the Probate Court Retirement Fund of Georgia (reappointment)
Baker is the White County Probate Court judge. He is a member of the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council, the White County Historical Society Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for Ninth District Opportunity, Inc. Baker has authored two books on the conservation and preservation of northeast Georgia’s history and cultural heritage. He lives in Cleveland.
Mike Greene, Board of Commissioners of the Judges of the Probate Court Retirement Fund of Georgia (reappointment)
Greene is the probate court judge and chief magistrate of Jones County. He is a member of the executive committee of the Council of Probate Court Judges and the Council of Magistrate Court Judges. Greene is a member of the National College of Probate Court Judges and serves on the Georgia Commission on Family Violence. Greene earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia College & State University. He and his wife, Julie, have three children, two grandchildren and reside in Gray.
