Governor's Office for Children and Families Supports October Pre-K Month
Atlanta- The Governor’s Office for Children and Families supported the Georgia Children’s Cabinet’s October Pre-K Month by visiting the Capitol Hill Enrichment Center in Atlanta to read to Pre-K classrooms. The children also received books for their classrooms courtesy of the First Lady of Georgia. GOCF is just one of the many agencies, organizations, and groups committed to the importance of early education and the literacy skills of Georgia’s children during the month of October. Approximately 60% of all four-year-olds in Georgia are served by Georgia’s Pre-K Program and Head Start, with a statewide Pre-K enrollment of nearly 84,000. Find a Pre-K program near you, volunteer to read your favorite children’s book, and contribute to the goal of making all Georgia’s Pre-K students life-long readers. Visit decal.ga.gov to get reading!
