Governor Deal Declares April Child Abuse Prevention Month
Atlanta, GA – This month Governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation declaring April Child Abuse Prevention Month. First Lady Deal, Georgia Children’s Cabinet, Governor’s Office for Children and Families staff, and Prevent Child Abuse Georgia joined the Governor in recognizing this month. The attendees wore blue and held Pinwheels for Prevention, both the national symbols for child abuse prevention, to bring awareness to Georgia’s child abuse prevention initiatives. The statewide ‘Wear Blue Day’ was held on Friday, April 4th, and agencies across the state wore blue in further efforts to spread awareness. These events are opportunities for organizations and communities to band together and become a voice for child abuse prevention.
