Georgia Children's Cabinet Visits the Fayette County Justice Center
Fayetteville, GA - On Thursday, August 14th, First Lady Sandra Deal and the Georgia Children's Cabinet supported Juvenile Justice Month by visiting the Fayette County Justice Center. The Justice Center's youth-outreach program, Think For a Change (T4AC), was discussed by a wide range of attendees, as well as the progress being made as a result of the Governor’s juvenile justice reinvestment grants. Speakers at the event included the Honorable Ben J. Miller Jr., the presiding judge, Helen Trouth, program manager at the Department of Juvenile Justice, Dr. Kevin Freeman of Grace Harbour, Inc., and the Honorable Karen M. Calloway, the associate judge. The efforts of the Fayette County Justice Center are one of many outstanding programs across Georgia supported by Governor Deal's juvenile justice reforms and reinvestment grants, which focus efforts on at-risk youth.
