Deal appoints seven to boards

Janet Sherlock, Board of Directors of the Georgia Technology Authority
Sherlock is the senior vice president and chief information officer at Carter’s, Inc. She was previously research director for Gartner Research and held senior business leadership positions for Guess?, Inc., Calico Corners, British Petroleum and ExxonMobil. Sherlock is the chairman of the National Retail Federation’s CIO Council. She earned a bachelor’s in Logistics from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in Business Administration from Marymount University. She and her husband, Jim, have two children. They reside in Fayetteville.

Joseph Surber, Board of Directors of the Georgia Technology Authority
Surber is the senior vice president and chief information officer for AGL Resources. He volunteers with the Midtown Alliance and United Way of Greater Atlanta. Surber is a graduate of the ARC Regional Leadership Institute and Leadership Atlanta. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Yancey, have three children. They reside in Alpharetta.

Sharonda Hubbard, McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority
Hubbard is a founding partner of BHF Technology, LLC. She is an active member in her church. Hubbard earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. She resides in East Point.

Sondra Rhoades-Johnson, McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority
Rhoades-Johnson is principal of Rhoades Strategies Consulting. She served as Fulton County Tax Commissioner and the Georgia Technology Authority’s Chief Planning Officer for IT Strategic Planning. Rhoades-Johnson is on the AARP Georgia Executive Council. She is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, ARC Regional Leadership Institute, Leadership Georgia and Leadership America. Rhoades-Johnson earned a bachelor’s from Spelman College and a master’s in Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. She and her husband, Charles, have four children and three grandchildren. They reside in East Point.

Susan Watts, State Board of Architects and Interior Designers
Watts is managing director of SpaceCraft, LLC., and volunteers with organizations that provide services for family, children services and veterans. She represented Midtown Atlanta on the NPU-E board. Watts earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Auburn University and an executive master’s degree in Business Administration from Dartmouth College. She and her husband, Leo, have two children. They reside in St. Simons.

Stephen Gray, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority
Gray is the president of Gray’s CC Ventures. He has more than 30 years of experience in agriculture and business. Gray earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in Public Administration. He and his wife, Jill, have two children and three grandchildren. They reside in Clarkesville.

James R. Woodward, Partnership for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Act Guidelines Committee
Woodward is a partner in the Gray Pannell & Woodward, LLP Atlanta office. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Association County Commissioners of Georgia and the Georgia Municipal Association. Woodward was named one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s “Legal Elite,” a “Super Lawyer” by Atlanta Magazine and was listed in Southern Business & Development magazine as one of the top lawyers in Georgia for economic issues. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Virginia. Woodward and his wife, Anne Fair, reside in Atlanta and have three children.
