Deal appoints seven to boards
Jeana Beeland, State Workforce Development Board
Beeland is the vice president of Human Resources for CJB Industries, Inc. She served on the Valdosta Board of Education for 10 years. Beeland earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State University. She and her husband, Clinton, have two sons. They reside in Valdosta.
Cade Joiner, State Workforce Development Board
Joiner is the founder and chairman of Shred-X Corp. He serves on the executive committee of the Georgia Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business and is vice chairman of the NFIB SAFE Trust PAC of Georgia. Joiner earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Katie, are expecting their first child in July. They reside in Chamblee.
Linda Owens, State Workforce Development Board
Owens is president of Southeastern Mills, Inc. She is a shareholder and sits on the Board of Southeastern Mills, Inc. and Grain Craft, Inc. She currently serves as chair of the Darlington School Board. Owens earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. She and her husband, James, have two children. They reside in Rome.
J. Dell Keith, State Workforce Development Board
Keith is president and executive director of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. He retired from the banking industry with over 33 years of service. He previously served as chief executive officer of Bryan Bank and Trust. Keith was chairman of the Coastal Area Development Authority, Wayne County Development Authority, Bryan County Development Authority, United Way of South Georgia, Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and Boys Club of Glynn County. In 2002, Keith was awarded Business Person of the Year for the State of Georgia by the Future Business Leaders of America. He and his wife, Janet, have two daughters and four grandchildren. They reside in Jesup.
Thomas M. Cook, State Workforce Development Board
Cook is president of FlexTecs North America, a division of Flexible Technology Solutions, LLC. He is the co-founder and board chair of New Hope Enterprises, LLC. Cook earned a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and a law degree from Emory University. He and his wife, Karina, have three children. They reside in Atlanta.
C. Todd Henry, State Workforce Development Board
Henry joined Caterpillar in 2006 as operations manager for the Building Construction Products Division’s facility in Clayton, N.C. In 2012, he assumed the role of operations manager for BCP’s new facility in Athens. Prior to Caterpillar, he worked for Modine Manufacturing Co. He currently serves on the Athens Technical College Board of Directors, the University of Georgia Engineering Advisory Board and is a member of the Rotary Club of Athens. Henry earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two daughters. They reside in Watkinsville.
Fred Taylor, State Workforce Development Board
Taylor is president and CEO of OTR Wheel Engineering. He started the company in 1987 and has expanded to 13 locations in North America. The company also has facilities in China, Thailand, Italy, England, Belgium and Sri Lanka. Taylor holds numerous patents and trademarks for tires, wheels and specialty equipment and studied mechanical engineering at Michigan Tech University. He and his wife, Mary, have five children and six grandchildren. They reside in Rome.
