Deal appoints seven to boards

Titus Duncan, Bariatric Surgery Pilot Program Review Panel

Duncan is the founder of Peachtree Surgical & Bariatric Associates, P.C., and is also affiliated with the Atlanta Medical Center and Crawford Long Hospital. He is a board certified general surgeon and fellow at the American College of Surgeons. Duncan is also an associate professor for Surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine and a director of Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery at the Atlanta Medical Center. Duncan earned a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. He has two children and resides in Atlanta.

Anna Chafin, Board of Commissioners of the Georgia Student Finance Commission

Chafin is the chief executive officer of the Bryan County Development Authority. She currently serves as second vice chair of the Georgia Economic Developers Association, is a past chair for the Leadership Southeast Georgia Alumni Association, sits on the Coastal Workforce Investment Board and is a member of the Richmond Hill Rotary Club. Chafin earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Mercer University and is a graduate of the Georgia Academy of Economic Development, Leadership Bryan, Leadership Southeast Georgia and Leadership Georgia. She and her husband, Justin, have one child.

Rachel Little, Board of Driver Services

Little works in the legal department of the U.S. headquarters for Merial, Inc., a global animal health company. She is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and currently serves on the Citizens Advisory Board for Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. Little earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Georgia State University. She and her husband, Bill, reside in Loganville.   

Sandra Lee Leslie, Professional Standards Commission

Leslie is the dean of the College of Education at Brenau University. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club, the advisory council for Vision 2030 at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, and she chairs the North East Georgia Dean’s Association. Leslie earned a bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in Education from Queens College and a doctorate of Education from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband, Glenn, have two children and three grandchildren. They reside in Gainesville.

D. Endsley Real, Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists

Real is a clinical liaison at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and has worked in the State of Georgia as a social worker for almost 20 years. Real earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University and a master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University. She resides in Atlanta.

Trisha Butler, Georgia Board of Massage Therapy

Butler has been practicing massage therapy for five years and currently is a massage therapist at Fortin Family Chiropractic. Previously, she worked at Back to Basics. Butler earned a degree from Gwinnett College. She and her husband, Troy, reside in Decatur.

Pam Jo Nichols, Georgia Board of Massage Therapy

Nichols is currently the general manager for Massage Envy Spa in Athens. She previously worked as a massage instructor for Rising Spirit Institute, was co-owner of Athens Center for Holistic Care and worked to evaluate and rank massage schools in Georgia for the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Nichols is certified in neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release, and is a graduate of Rising Spirit Institute. She resides in Danielsville.
