Deal delays openings in counties facing storm warning

February 23, 2015

Normal business in metro Atlanta, but subject to change if conditions are worse than expected

Responding to a winter storm warning from the National Weather Service, Gov. Nathan Deal has ordered a two-hour delayed opening tomorrow morning for state offices in Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Towns, Union and White counties.

The weather service has issued a winter storm advisory for numerous other counties in North Georgia and most of metro Atlanta. Given that forecasts show temperatures above freezing for the morning commute, the governor plans to open state offices at regular hours in these counties tomorrow, but that is subject to change in the early morning if conditions are worse than expected.
