Deal appoints Burke County State Court judge
Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of Jackson E. Cox to the State Court judgeship within Burke County. Cox will fill the vacancy created by the passing of the Honorable Jerry Daniel. The appointment will take effect upon swearing in.
Jackson E. Cox, State Court of Burke County
Cox currently serves as Solicitor-General of Burke County. He has a private law practice in Waynesboro, which he has operated since 2000. He earned a bachelor degree in Economics from Davidson College in North Carolina and a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Cox and his wife, Karen, have five children and reside in Waynesboro.
