Deal announces appointments within State Court of Worth County

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of Ralph Powell as State Court judge and R. David Bryan as solicitor general of Worth County. The State Court judicial vacancy was created by the passing of the Hon. Clarence A. Miller. The solicitor general vacancy was created by the resignation of the Hon. Bryce A. Johnson. The appointments are effective upon swearing-in.

Ralph Powell, State Court judge
Powell is a managing member of Wilmot & Powell, LLC in Tifton. He earned a bachelor's of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a law degree from the University of Georgia. Powell and his wife, Heather, have one daughter and reside in Doerun.

R. David Bryan, solicitor general
Bryan has been the sole member of R. David Bryan, LLC in Tifton since 1997.  He has served as Municipal Court judge in Sycamore and Pulan, and as assistant solicitor in Worth County. He earned bachelor’s degrees from Valdosta State College and Georgia Southern College, and his law degree from Mercer University. Bryan and his wife, Deidre, have four children and reside in Tifton.
