Deal, Olens name new counsel for water litigation

March 5, 2014

Gov. Nathan Deal and Attorney General Sam Olens today announced that the state of Georgia has hired a new firm to represent it in ongoing water litigation.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kazmarek Mowery Cloud Laseter LLP,” Deal and Olens said in a statement. “The expertise and experience of Skip Kazmarek and his partners will be a valuable asset as we continue to defend the rights of Georgians to our natural resources.

“We are grateful to Bruce Brown, Todd Silliman, and John Allen for their dedicated service to the state of Georgia. Their legal counsel has been invaluable as we and our predecessors have worked to preserve Georgia's water rights. We wish them the best as they begin this new chapter in their practices.”

"We are honored to have the opportunity to represent the state of Georgia," said Kazmarek. "We look forward to working with the governor and the attorney general to ensure that Georgia has access to its fair share of natural resources."
