Deal appoints two to boards
Robert G. Mikell, State Employee Benefit Plan Council
Mikell is commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services. He previously served as a prosecutor and worked for the law firm of Fain, Major & Brennan. He sits on the International Board of Directors for the Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and is immediate past president of AAMVA Region II. He serves on the National Sheriff’s Association’s Traffic Safety Committee, the Georgia Piedmont College Law Enforcement Academy POST Advisory Board and is past president of the Rockdale County Bar Association. Mikell earned a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, a law degree from Washington & Lee University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. He and his wife, Sherrie, have three children. They reside in Snellville.
Katherine K. Monti, Board of Directors of the Path2College 529 Savings Plan
Monti is an assistant principal at E.T. Booth Middle School in Cherokee County. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, she was the teacher adviser for Race to the Top, a Language Arts and Reading teacher and a state finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year. Monti earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Kennesaw State University. She and her husband, Thomas, have four children. They reside in Marietta.
