Deal appoints three to boards

Michael L. “Sully” Sullivan, Technical College System of Georgia Board (reappointment)
Sullivan is the president and chief executive officer of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia. He serves as chairman of the Georgia Transportation Alliance and the Gwinnett County Water & Sewer Authority and also serves on the board of directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Council for Quality Growth. Sullivan earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a law degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two children. They reside in Lilburn.
 
Lisa Alexander, Board of Human Services (reappointment)
Alexander is employed by the Douglas County Board of Education as a fifth-grade teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Georgia State University and a master’s degree from Mercer University. She is a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She and her husband, Christopher, have two children. They reside in Douglasville.
 
Michael Long, State Board of Education
Long is the owner of the Michael Long Insurance Agency. He is the immediate past chair of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Wayne County Industrial Development Authority and the Wayne County Solid Waste Authority. He is the past chairman of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Warm Springs Advisory Council and past chairman of the Georgia Rehabilitation Association. Additionally, he has served on the Jesup Elementary School Council and works on several Junior Achievement programs in the Wayne County School System. Long earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. He and his wife, Jeannie, have two children. They reside in Jesup.
