Deal appoints three to boards

Rhona H. Abeles, State Use Council (reappointment)
Abeles is the office administrator for her husband, Fredrick Abeles, a doctor of dental surgery. She is originally from Montreal, Quebec, where she earned a bachelor’s degree from McGill University. She and her husband have two children. They reside in Marietta.

Lawton Jordan III, Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission
Jordan is an attorney with Davis, Matthews and Quigley, P.C. He worked at the White House in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs from 1994 to 1996, and served as chief legal counsel to the Democratic Caucus in the Georgia state Senate in 2002 and 2003. In 2003 he was selected as a “40 under 40 Rising Star” by Georgia Trend Magazine. In 2007 and 2009, he was selected by other lawyers for inclusion as a “Rising Star” in the list of Georgia Super Lawyers. Lawton graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University in 1993 and a law degree from the University of Georgia in 2000. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. They are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church. They reside in Atlanta.

Wendy Troyer, Georgia Composite Medical Board (reappointment)
Troyer is the corporate medical director of an Atlanta-based multispecialty practice providing services in neonatology, pediatric intensive care, pediatric genetics, and in-patient normal newborn care at Northside Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta – Scottish Rite. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University.  She and her husband, Tim, are active in international medical missions. They reside in Atlanta.
