Deal appoints three to boards

Wayne McGuinty, Jr., Consumer Advisory Board (reappointment)
McGuinty is president and chief executive officer of McMann Acceptance Corp. and R.W.M. Enterprises, Inc., the parent corporation of R.W. Home Furnishings, W.M. Publishing and Patriot Graphics. He is vice president of Kaizen Investments, LLC and serves on the Foundation Board of Wiregrass Technical College. He has been a Rochelle city councilman for more than 15 years and serves as chief of the Rochelle Volunteer Fire Department and deputy coroner of Wilcox County. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Rochelle where he serves as deacon chairman, Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School director. He and his wife, Robin, have four children. They reside in Rochelle.
 
Tom Thompson, Rural Development Council (reappointment)
Thompson currently serves as chairman of the Tri County EMC Board of Directors, a position he has held for 27 years. Thompson retired as Putnam County Commission chairman on Dec. 31. He previously served as chairman of Gatewood Schools and president of Georgia Milk Producers, Inc. Thompson is general partner of Eatonton Dairy Farms, Inc. and president of Tom Thompson Co., Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Emory University. He is a member of Eatonton First Baptist Church. He and his wife, Pam, have seven children and 16 grandchildren. They reside in Eatonton.
 
Garry W. McGiboney, Joint Study Committee on Mental Health Access
McGiboney currently serves as the associate superintendent of Policy at the Georgia Department of Education. He has more than 30 years of experience in public education, having served in several school level and district level positions. He currently serves on the board of directors of Georgia Family Connections Partnership, Georgia Chapter of Mental Health of America, and the DeKalb Community Service Board. He has more than 30 professional publications on topics including adolescent behavior, bullying prevention and intervention, emergency and crisis planning, school law, policy development, parenting, incarcerated youth, and mental health. McGiboney earned a doctorate in both School Psychology and Educational Administration from Georgia State University and is a certified mediator. He has two children. They reside in Stone Mountain.
