Judge sustains suspensions of all five former DeKalb school board members
Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that chief administrative law Judge Maxwell Wood has sustained the suspensions of the final three former DeKalb County school board members who petitioned for their reinstatement earlier this year.
In reports given to the governor this week, Wood concluded that former board members Eugene Walker, Donna Edler and Jay Cunningham failed to show that their presence on the DeKalb school board would improve the ability of the local school system to retain or re-attain its accreditation, as required by O.C.G.A Section 20-2-73. Wood had previously sustained the suspensions of Pam Speaks and Sarah Copelin-Woods.
