Deal announces Putnam solicitor-general appointment

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of attorney Russell Spivey Thomas to fill the solicitor-general vacancy in Putnam County. The vacancy was created by the appointment of the Hon. R. Michael Gailey, Jr. as State Court judge of Putnam County.  

Russell Spivey Thomas 
Thomas is a general practitioner at the Law Office of Russell S. Thomas in Eatonton. He serves as prosecuting attorney for violations of county ordinances in the Magistrate and State Court of Putnam County. He also serves as probate judge pro hac vice and county administrator in the Probate Court of Putnam County. Thomas earned both his bachelor and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Pamela, have three children and live in Eatonton.
