Deal to end Ga. 400 toll next year

Fulfilling his promise to commuters, Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that he will have the state pay off its bond debt on Dec. 1, 2013, and move rapidly after that to remove the Ga. 400 toll by the end of that year.

Deal: June revenue up 2.6 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal reported today that the State of Georgia’s net tax collections for the month of June totaled $1.54 billion, an increase of $39 million, or 2.6 percent, compared to June 2011.

Deal suspends Dougherty school board member

July 12, 2012

Gov. Nathan Deal today signed an executive order that suspends Velvet Riggins as a member of the Dougherty County Board of Education pending the disposition of the charges against her or the end of her term, whichever comes first.
