Deal appoints five to boards
Henry E. Bohn, State Board of Veterinary Medicine (reappointment)
Bohn is a veterinarian at the East Cobb Veterinary Clinic, Inc. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and a charter member of the Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic, the Animal Emergency Clinic of Sandy Springs and the Cherokee Emergency Veterinary Clinic. He served as president of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, the Greater Atlanta Veterinary Association and the Cobb Veterinary Medical Society. Bohn is a member of the University of Georgia’s President’s Club and the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce Honorary Commanders. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Cindy, have two sons and two grandsons. They reside in Marietta.
Phil Carlock, State Properties Commission
Carlock has been active in the real estate income property development and management business in the Southeast since 1972. He is a past president of the National, Georgia, and Atlanta Apartment Associations and he has been inducted in the Georgia and National Apartment Association Halls of Fame. He is chairman of the executive committee of ECI Group. He graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and holds the certified property manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and the CAPS designation from the National Apartment Association. Carlock and his wife, Helen, reside in Atlanta.
Thomas L. Coleman, Board of Juvenile Justice
Coleman is a retired Air Force officer and Vietnam veteran with more than 25 years of service. He has also served as the director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and the deputy commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Currently, he serves as a volunteer commissioner with the DeKalb County Housing Authority. Coleman received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and doctorial degree in Higher Education Administration from Atlanta University. He has two children and three grandchildren. Coleman and his wife, Beverly, reside in Lithonia.
Keith C. Wright, Governor’s Commission on 9-1-1 System Modernization and Balancing Funding Model
Wright is currently serving as emergency management director for Wayne County. He worked 30 years as a federal law enforcement conservation officer, Wayne County deputy sheriff and emergency management director. Wright attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and graduated with a certification in law enforcement and land management. He has obtained an advanced certification from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council, Georgia Firefighter Certification and a professional manager certification with Georgia Emergency Management. He and his wife, Lana, have two children and five grandchildren. They reside in Jesup.
Elaine Sexton, Governor’s Commission on 9-1-1 System Modernization and Balancing Funding Model
Sexton retired as the State 9-1-1 Program Administrator with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency in 2012. She was previously employed by the Hall County 9-1-1 and Communications, where she served as director at the end of her tenure. She is a past president and life member of the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, a life member of the Georgia Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association, a past member of the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators, and a member of the E9-1-1 Institute. She and her husband, Stan, have two daughters and three grandsons. They reside in Gainesville.
