Deal appoints judges to Georgia Tax Tribunal, local courts

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of the Hon. Charles R. Beaudrot Jr. as administrative law judge for the Georgia Tax Tribunal, the Hon. Wayne D. McLocklin as Superior Court judge of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit and the Hon. R. Michael Gailey as State Court Judge of Putnam County. Beaudrot fills the vacancy created by the passage of House Bill 100 during the 2012 Session of the Georgia General Assembly. McLocklin fills the vacancy created by the passage of Senate Bill 356 during the 2012 session of the Georgia General Assembly. Gailey fills the vacancy created by the appointment of the Hon. Trenton Brown III to the Superior Court of the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit in September. All appointments will take effect upon swearing in.

Charles R. Beaudrot Jr., Georgia Tax Tribunal
Beaudrot is a senior partner in the Tax Practice at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP. He is a frequent speaker on tax, partnership and corporate topics for numerous sponsors such as the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in Georgia and the Georgia Real Estate Tax Conference. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and his law degree from Harvard University Law School. Beaudrot lives in Atlanta.

Wayne D. McLocklin, Piedmont Judicial Circuit
McLocklin is managing partner in the law firm of McLocklin & Murphy, LLP. He has been active in organizations such as the Gridiron Secret Society, AGHON Honor Society, Barrow County Chamber of Commerce, the Oconee River Soil and Water Conservation District, and Cattleman’s organizations. McLocklin earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Melanie, live in Statham and have two children.

R. Michael Gailey Jr., State Court of Putnam County
Gailey is the solicitor general of Putnam County and partner of the Gailey Law Firm, LLC on Lake Oconee. He also serves as solicitor of the Magistrate Court of Morgan County and Municipal Court of Eatonton. Gailey earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and law degree from John Marshall Law School. He and his wife, Laura, reside in Eatonton with their children.
