Deal appoints judges to Cobb and Gwinnett benches, McIntosh County State Court

Gov. Nathan Deal today appointed the Hon. Robert D. Leonard II to the Superior Court judgeship within the Cobb Judicial Circuit, the Hon. George F. Hutchinson, III to the Superior Court judgeship within the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit, and the Hon. C. Jean Bolin to the State Court judgeship in McIntosh County. Leonard fills the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. George H. Kreeger. Hutchinson fills the vacancy created by the appointment of the Hon. William M. Ray, II to the Court of Appeals of Georgia in July. Bolin fills the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Dale Jenkins. All appointments will take effect upon swearing in.

Robert D. Leonard II, Cobb Judicial Circuit
Leonard has served as Division II judge of the State Court of Cobb County since his appointment in December 2010. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Tommy Nobis Center and the Oregon Park Baseball Association, and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta. Leonard earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Kentucky. He and his wife, Lauri, live in Acworth with their three children.

George F. Hutchinson, III, Gwinnett Judicial Circuit
Hutchinson has served as the Chief Magistrate judge of Gwinnett County since December 2007 and Magistrate judge from 2004-07. He previously served as senior assistant district attorney in Gwinnett County and assistant district attorney within the Coweta Judicial Circuit. Hutchinson earned his bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice from Guilford College in North Carolina and his law degree from Emory University School of Law. He and his wife, Julie, have two children. They reside in Lawrenceville.

C. Jean Bolin, State Court of McIntosh County
Bolin has served as juvenile court judge for the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and specifically Bryan and McIntosh counties since her appointment in August 2006. She is also a partner in the firm Bolin & West-Webster, PC. Bolin earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Shorter College and her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. She and her husband, Hammond “Butch” Bolin, Jr., live in Townsend.
