Deal appoints five to boards

Timothy S. Milligan, Board of Trustees of the Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund
Milligan is a 15-year member with the City of Marietta Fire Department, currently serving as a commander in the suppression division. He is active in both the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association and Honorary Commanders Association. Milligan earned an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business from Regis University. He resides in Marietta with his wife, Debbyn, and two children.

Robert L. “Chuck” Kelley, Board of Trustees of the Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund
Kelley serves as the director of public safety (police and fire chief) for the Stone Mountain Park Department of Public Safety. He has been employed with the department since 1973. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Police Chiefs, the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associations and the Airborne Law Enforcement Association. In 2008, Kelley received the Georgia Governors’ Award for Public Safety for Outstanding Contributions to the Profession. He and his wife, Charlotte, have one daughter and two granddaughters. They reside in Lilburn.

Mitchell S. Aiken, Board of Trustees of the Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund
Aiken is a 27-year veteran firefighter for the Gainesville Fire Department, where he currently serves as battalion chief. He is a graduate of Georgia Fire Academy and attended DeKalb College as well as Lanier Technical College. Aiken is a member of the Georgia Firefighter Association and Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. He and his wife, Cree, have three children. They reside in Gainesville.

Jackie T. Gibbs, Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council
Gibbs serves as fire chief in Marietta, beginning his career as a firefighter there 35 years ago. He serves on the board of directors of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs and is a former board member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Gibbs is the recipient of numerous fire service awards including Fire Chief of the Year, the Governors Public Safety Award and the International Code Council Fire Service Award for professional code development. He also serves his community as a member of the Cobb County Commission on Children and Youth. Gibbs earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering Technology and an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology from Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta. He and his wife, Barbara, have one daughter. They reside in Marietta.

Brad M. Ray, Child Advocate Advisory Committee
Ray is the executive director of the SOWEGA CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) located in Americus. He is the past president/chair of the Dooly County Chamber of Commerce though currently serves as the treasurer. He is also a member of the Easter Seals Board and a 2007 recipient of the President’s Call to Service Award, which is the highest honor bestowed by the White House for volunteer service. Ray graduated from Florida State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He resides in Americus.
