Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Bart Gobeil will become the state’s Chief Operating Officer on April 15. Gobeil succeeds Trey Childress, who was asked by the governor to stay on through the legislative session.
Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that Georgia has once again received triple-A bond ratings from all three major municipal bond rating agencies.
Georgia’s lottery-funded HOPE scholarship and prekindergarten program will continue to be one of the nation’s most, if not the most, generous state educational benefits under the state’s new plan.
The state Senate today acted on behalf of present-day and future generations of Georgia students by putting the HOPE scholarship on firm financial footing, said Gov. Nathan Deal. The Enduring HOPE bill passed by a wide margin, 35-20.
Gov. Nathan Deal reported today that the Georgia Department of Revenue saw a $148 million increase (26.1 percent) in monthly net revenue collections compared to February 2010.
Following bipartisan negotiations, Gov. Nathan Deal today announced his updated plan to preserve Georgia’s full-day prekindergarten program while still implementing the reforms necessary to prevent insolvency.
Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed the following to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame Authority. The appointments take effect immediately. The authority has nine board members.
