Deal appoints five to boards

T. Charlton Rogers, Georgia Rural Development Council
Rogers has been an agent with New York Life and NYLIFE Securities Inc. for the past 16 years. He serves on the board of directors for the Glennville Bank, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Pinewood Christian Academy. He serves as lay leader for his church and is active in his community. He was awarded Tattnall County Citizen of the Year in 2009. Rogers earned a bachelor’s in Education from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Anna, have three children. They reside in Glennville.

Tom Thompson Jr., Georgia Rural Development Council
Thompson is the president and CEO of Tom Thompson Co. Inc. and Eatonton Dairy Farms. He is chairman of the Putnam County Commission, the Tri County Electric Member Cooperative and building committee chairman for the Eatonton First Baptist Church. He is a former member of the board of directors of Georgia Milk Producers, Atlanta Dairies and the National Milk Producers Federation. He was awarded Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Best Divestiture of the Year” award in 1986. Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Emory University. He and his wife, Pamela, have seven children and several grandchildren. They reside in Eatonton. 

Marion O. Lee Jr., Georgia Composite Medical Board (reappointment)
Lee is an anesthesiologist and pain management consultant with Centers for Pain Management, located in Tifton, Cordele and Douglas. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Board of Pain Medicine, the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He serves as president of the Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and on the nominating committee for the Federation of State Medical Boards. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Auburn University, as well as a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Lee and his wife, Denah, have four children. They reside in Cordele.

Gilbert S. Chandler III, Georgia Composite Medical Board
Chandler is a founding member of Specialty Clinics of Georgia, a multispecialty clinic consisting of neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and pain management. He is a pain management specialist with Specialty Clinics of Georgia-Pain Management in Gainesville. He is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, American Academy of Pain Medicine and the International Spinal Injection Society. Chandler earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a medical degree from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Debi, have five children and four grandchildren. They reside in Gainesville.

Dorothy J. Gaskin, State Board of Physical Therapy
Gaskin is the compliance manager for the Rehabilitation Institute at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. She has more than 30 years experience in the field of physical therapy. Gaskin earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from East Carolina University and an MBA from Clemson University. She and her husband, David, have one son, David Jr. They reside in Savannah.
