Deal names five to boards
Alec L. Poitevint, II, Georgia Ports Authority Board of Directors
Gov. Deal is reappointing Poitevint to the Authority Board of Directors. Poitevent serves as chairman and president of Southeastern Minerals, Inc. and as the director of Georgia Agribusiness Council. He is also chairman of American Feed Industry Insurance Company and former Federal Commissioner of the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Water Basin Compact. Poitevint received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Doreen, have two daughters. They reside in Bainbridge.
Holly S. Kaplan, State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
Kaplan currently serves as the undergraduate coordinator for the Communication Sciences Program at the University of Georgia, where she teaches, supervises clinical trials and provides audiology services in the University’s Speech and Hearing Clinic. She is a member of Educational Testing Services Audiology Advisory Council, the UGA College of Education’s Academic Appeals Committee, the Georgia Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Kaplan earned her bachelor’s degree from Bradley University, her master’s from Gallaudet College and her doctorate from the University of Florida. She and her husband, Ray, have two children and live in Bogart.
Amy E. Gatch, MS, CCC-SLP, State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
Gatch works as a preschool speech-language diagnostician with the Fulton County school system. She previously worked with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Gatch is a member of the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where she serves on the administrative board. Gatch earned her B.A. from the University of Florida and her master’s from Florida State University. She and her husband, Zach, live in Smyrna with their son.
Rhonda B. Greenway, Georgia Film Commission
Greenway has served as executive assistant to the governor’s Executive Counsel since 2005. Prior to that, Greenway worked for the Georgia Technology Authority as executive assistant to the director. She has studied and worked as a production and location assistant on films and music videos. Greenway volunteers with Speedway Children’s Charities. She attended Clayton State University. She has three children and three grandchildren and lives in Stockbridge.
Henry R. Craig, Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission
Gov. Deal is reappointing Craig to the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission. Craig served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. During his military career he served a year of combat duty in Vietnam and completed 345 combat flying hours. Craig also served in Europe and Asia. After retiring from the military, he worked for Continental Airlines as assistant chief pilot. Craig managed pilots and aircraft involved in domestic and international aviation operations. Craig has degrees from Georgia Military College, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Webster University. He and his wife, Celia, have two children and four grandchildren. They live in Milledgeville.
