Deal fills Western Judicial Circuit judgeship

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of H. Patrick Haggard to fill the vacancy in the Superior Court of the Western Judicial Circuit. Mr. Haggard fills the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Steve C. Jones, following Jones’ confirmation as a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The appointment takes effect upon swearing-in, which is expected to occur within the next few weeks.

H. Patrick Haggard, Athens – Haggard is a solo practitioner and serves as Municipal Court Judge for the city of Winterville. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from John Marshall Law School. He and his wife, Beth, have three children.
