Deal appoints four to boards, Governor fills slots for Nursing, Economic Development, Arts

Deborah R. Bailey, BSN, MSN, Georgia Board of Nursing

Bailey is the Director of Governmental Relations for the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Health System. She serves on the Health Committee of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, as well as Georgia’s Public Health Commission and Nursing Education Study Group. Bailey has also served as the Vice President of Nursing at Northeast Georgia Medical and as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Brenau University. She has authored several publications on psychiatric nursing and nursing practices. Bailey earned her bachelor’s degree from Brenau University and a master’s degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She has one daughter, Kelley, who is a teacher.

Emory Lee Morseberger, Board of Economic Development, Seventh Congressional District

Morseberger is the owner of Morseberger Group, a real estate redevelopment firm in Lawrenceville. Named to Georgia Trend’s 100 Most Influential Georgians list since 2007, he serves as chairman of the Medici Center and on the boards of Livable Communities Coalition, Georgia Cities Foundation, Georgians for Passenger Rail, and the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District. Morseberger earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s degree from the Wharton School of Finance. He and his wife, Janet, have seven daughters.

Robert Kinard, Board of Economic Development, Ninth Congressional District

Kinard is the founder of Coldwell Banker Kinard Realty Inc. He is the past chairman of the Georgia Department of Industry Trade and Tourism, the Dalton Whitfield Chamber of Commerce, the Dalton State College Foundation, and of Carpet Capital Board of Realtors. Kinard also serves as director of the Dalton Salvation Army. A recipient of Coldwell Banker President’s Award from 1999 to 2005, Kinard was named to the North West Georgia Hall of Fame in 2010. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Dalton. Kinard earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Georgia and an Associate Degree of Engineering from Southern Technical Institute. He and his wife, Dixie, have three daughters and six grandchildren.

Gladys Wyant, Georgia Council for the Arts

Wyant has served as executive director and development director for the Arts Council of Hall County for 27 years. She has completed professional development certifications through the Georgia Assembly of Community Arts Agencies, the Southern Arts Federation and the Association of Americans for the Arts. Wyant is heavily involved in community arts education and theater initiatives, including the Gainesville Children’s Theatre, the Lanier Symphony Orchestra League and the Gainesville Public Art Committee. Wyant holds degrees from both Kennesaw State University and Brenau University. She and her husband, Joseph, have two children.
