Bob Bruder-Mattson

CEO, The United Methodist Children’s Home

Bruder-Mattson joined The United Methodist Children’s Home as Chief Executive Officer in November of 2012. He oversees five offices with a $7 million annual budget and 70 staff members with the mission of providing healing services that transform lives in 72 Georgia counties for more than 1,000 children annually. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience designing and delivering strategies that produce exponential revenue growth and multi-million dollar cost reductions while improving mission delivery.
 
He emphasizes performance, innovation, and partnerships as he works to create an environment in Georgia where all children will have the opportunity to thrive and be part of a loving family.
 
Prior to joining UMCH, he was the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Bluewater Nonprofit Solutions, an information technology and management consulting firm specializing in software as a service (SaaS), business intelligence solutions, payment processing and business process technology enablement.
 
Before starting Bluewater, he spent nearly 17 years in a variety of leadership roles at the American Cancer Society, including his most recent role as National Vice President/Chief Information Officer of Shared Services. While in that role, he was recognized for building and leading the nonprofits sector’s first shared service organization. His business unit received multiple national awards and generated $90M of savings in five years by leveraging technology and process improvement to streamline operations for more than 500 office locations with 6,500 employees.
 
His ministry to at-risk youth and families began with Big Brothers Big Sisters while in college, and has continued over the years with service to the following organizations: United Way, Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, Fraser Neightborhood Services, Winton Place Youth Center and Habitat for Humanity.
 
Bruder-Mattson is an active member of his church family and has served as a small group leader, Sunday school teacher, worship leader, choir member and board member.
 
He earned his master’s degree in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati and his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Beth University in St. Paul, Minnesota. A native of Minneapolis, he and his wife, Sue, live in Roswell with their three daughters.
